Stapely Care Home in Liverpool is trialling a scheme where exercise bikes and videos are used to enable residents living with dementia to go on virtual cycling trips to locations around the world.

With everything from shops and salons to cinemas and cycling, a new scheme encourages residents to take control of their lives by designing care home.

“Changing the mundane to the inspirational... is what lies at the cornerstone of good quality care” said Martin Green, the chief executive of Care England, in an ITN programme called ‘Creativity in Care’.
