WARDSIDE HOUSE GAZETTE October 2025

Wardside House named Top Care Home in Perthshire

The Dundee Courier recently used data from the Care Inspectorate to find the top 5 Care Homes in Perthshire. Wardside House came out top with an overall score of 5.8 out of 6. The Care Inspectorate felt our support, leadership, staff and planning were “sector leading”. High praise indeed!

In an email to all the staff, David and Marjorie Burt, owners of Wardside House said that, “This is testament to the fantastic caring work and professionalism you have shown time and time again. This is achieved by a dedicated team effort by everyone who works at Wardside House. We are extremely proud of you all.”

The Cairns @ Wardside

A little humour from staff member
Cheryl Hawkins

It’s a mystery to me the “Cairns” of Wardside,
for they only appear early morn,
stacked upon the cupboard they adorn.
Neatly folded and smelling clean, they sit.
But what is their purpose?
I feel a right twit! Is it for me they point the way?
Am I to respond to their message each day?
Do I remove them and bring the home
or do I just leave them alone?
For a pile of stones they do not be
but TOWELS used by you and me!!
YES a mystery it remains.
