A Taste of Malaysia Comes to Wardside House

Wardside House | Week commencing 26th June 2026

Here at Wardside House, we believe that mealtimes should be something to look forward to — a moment of warmth, pleasure, and connection in every resident’s day. This week, our kitchen is taking things up a notch with a celebration of flavour that travels all the way from the rolling hills of Perthshire to the vibrant street food stalls of Malaysia.

A Malaysian Adventure on the Menu

This week’s menu is a little different — and we’re very excited about it. Our team has lovingly prepared a Malaysian-inspired spread that introduces residents to bold, aromatic, and comforting dishes from a cuisine rich in tradition and flavour.

Friday kicks things off with a standout: Longtong Kuah Lodeh — a traditional Malaysian vegetable curry, fragrant with coconut milk and warm spices, served alongside Kaui Kambing (a beautifully spiced lamb curry) and Nasi Lemak, Malaysia’s iconic coconut jasmine rice. To finish, residents can enjoy Sago Mangga(mango sago pudding) or sip on Teh Tarik, Malaysia’s beloved “pulled” sweet tea — a frothy, creamy treat with a story behind every pour.

It’s a menu that sparks conversation, curiosity, and delight in equal measure.

Sunday Roast — A Wardside Classic

Of course, no week at Wardside would be complete without a proper Sunday roast. This week, it’s all about Roast Lamb — served with carrots, Brussels sprouts, mint sauce, rich gravy, and golden roast potatoes. Comforting, classic, and cooked with care. Just as it should be.

Something for Everyone

Our kitchen team works hard to ensure every resident has a choice that suits their taste and dietary needs. Alongside the headline dishes, this week’s menu also features:

•       Smoked Haddock with vegetables and potatoes

•       Steak Mince with carrots, turnip, and potatoes

•       Chicken Fillet with honey roast vegetables and baby potatoes

•       Fried Fillet of Haddock with garden peas and chips

•       Beef Casserole with green beans and mashed potatoes

•       Lighter options including Cheese Omelette, Quorn Sausage Salad, and Garlic Mushrooms

For dessert, residents can choose from classics like Trifle, Apple Pie and Cream, and Chocolate Fudge Cake, as well as lighter options like Greek Yogurt with Berries and Honey, or a silky Panna Cotta.

Evening meals are equally varied — from Pesto Pasta and Garlic Bread to Chicken and Vegetable Fricassee, Scotch Eggs with Salad, Eggs Benedict, and a wonderful Brie or Cheddar and Cranberry Sandwich with Side Salad.

More Than Just a Meal

Good food is about so much more than nutrition. It brings joy, stirs memories, and gives residents something to look forward to. Whether it’s the familiar comfort of a Sunday roast or the excitement of something new — like a fragrant bowl of Malaysian lamb curry — every dish we serve at Wardside House is made with pride and genuine care.

We’d love to hear which dish was the favourite this week. Let us know in the comments!
