Grounds
After the heatwave comes the rain. The grass is now growing at a tremendous rate and the problem now is to find the occasional dry day to allow us to cut it. When the ground is as saturated as it has been, we are liable to lose the machinery as it sinks in.
The flower boxes at the front of the home are now starting to fill out after struggling for survival during the heatwave. We hope you will enjoy the brightly coloured flowers as they bloom.

Elderly Ladies Everywhere
A poem by Cheryl Hawkins, Senior Staff Member
There are elderly ladies everywhere sitting in their comfortable chairs.
Ladies with grey, silver and white hairs dreaming all their old memories.
What do these ladies do each day other than wait their lives away?
Some knit, draw or watch TV while others read a book of two.
Some will craft and many will stare but believe me… they are all aware.
Ladies in their thousands sit in rooms of their own, often very alone.
We care for them, honest we do.
Yet how much do you and me know?
I think those elderly ladies are, protecting us from evil afar.
Otherwise why sit so still?
Wise and old, they know their spot keeping us safe from life's BIG PLOT!
Thank you ladies of age for keeping the watch.
