Join Our Team: Why a Career in Care at Wardside House Could Be Right for You
At Wardside House, we're proud to be known as Scotland's No.1 care home, as named by The Sunday Times. But awards and league tables only tell part of the story. What really sets us apart is our people — and right now, we're looking for more compassionate, dedicated individuals to join our team.
More Staff Than Residents
It's a simple fact that says a lot about who we are: at Wardside House, we have more staff than residents. That's not by accident. We believe genuinely personalised care is only possible when our team has the time, energy, and support to give each resident the attention they deserve. If you've ever felt frustrated working somewhere too stretched to do the job properly, you'll understand why this matters.
We're Looking For Care Staff
We're currently recruiting compassionate people with a genuine passion for caring for the elderly. Whether you've spent years working in care homes or you're considering your first role in the sector, what matters most to us is your character — kindness, patience, and a real desire to make a difference.
An SVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable, but if you don't have one, don't let that put you off getting in touch. We value the right attitude as much as formal qualifications, and we support our team members in building their skills and experience along the way.
Our roles cover early shifts, back shifts, and night shifts, so there's flexibility to suit different circumstances.
What We Offer
Good rates of pay for the right candidates
Meals provided while on duty
28 days' holiday per annum
Company pension for those eligible
A close-knit, family-run environment where your work is genuinely valued
A Place Where Care Comes First
Wardside House sits in the beautiful Perthshire hills, in the village of Muthill near Crieff. Residents come to us from Crieff, Stirling, Tayside, Dunblane, Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond — drawn by our reputation for warmth, kindness and compassion, recognised in our recent Care Inspectorate report, which rated us excellent for wellbeing, leadership, staff and support.
Working here means becoming part of a community — not just for our residents, but for our staff too. We're a family-run home, and we treat our team like family.
