At Wardside House, our Gazette updates are a window into life here — from staff announcements and resident milestones, to garden updates, social events and celebrations. As the year comes to a close, here’s a look back at all the Wardside House Gazette entries that have kept our community connected and informed in 2025.

June 2025 Gazette — Growth & New Faces

Our June Gazette showcased a blossoming summer at Wardside House:

  • Staff news: Team members continued their professional development with SVQ qualifications, including congratulations to Nikita Cowan on achieving her Level 2 certificate. Our new cook Rona settled in well, delighting residents with freshly baked treats.

  • Garden updates: Lawns thrived in summer sunshine and flower boxes flourished, tended lovingly by residents.

  • Activities: Craft club, scrabble, chair exercises and music requests on Care Sound Radio kept spirits high throughout June and July.

  • Community growth: We welcomed several new residents into our home and saw others return for respite care — a lovely expansion of our family.

This Gazette highlighted the vibrancy and engagement that make each day at Wardside House special.

October 2025 Gazette — Autumn Life & Community Values

The October Gazette brought us face to face with everyday life here:

  • Daily rhythms: Our high staff-to-resident ratio was celebrated — with more staff than residents giving time and attention that’s truly personal.

  • Family-run community: The Gazette emphasised how this staffing approach supports deeper bonds, consistency of care and a feeling of being at home rather than in an institution.

  • Comfort & choice: Residents continued to enjoy activities, fresh air, garden strolls and shared conversations with our team — all reinforcing the warmth and close-knit ethos of Wardside House.

This edition of the Gazette was a wonderful reminder of the heart of our home — connection, dignity and compassion.

November 2025 Gazette — News & Achievements

Our November Gazette coincided with some very big news for Wardside House and our wider community:

  • Recognition and celebrations: Alongside our Gazette update, we proudly shared that Wardside House was named the No. 1 Care Home in Scotland by The Sunday Times. This national honour reflects the warmth, kindness and dedicated care shown by every member of our team.

  • Seasonal highlights: Details from the Gazette included community events, resident birthdays, seasonal celebrations and activities that brought everyone together as the year turned towards winter.

This issue highlighted both everyday joy and extraordinary achievement.

December 2025 Gazette — Looking Ahead

Most recently, our December Gazette captured the feel of the season and a sense of togetherness:

  • Festive activities: With Christmas approaching, our Gazette shared ideas, celebrations and the joyful mood among residents and staff.

  • Community updates: Once again, the focus was on shared experiences, upcoming diary dates, and the smaller moments that make life here feel like family.

Across 2025, our Wardside House Gazette editions have brought to life:

  • Professional growth and celebrations of staff achievements.

  • Garden and craft moments that reflect the beauty of life here.

  • Community engagement through activities, music and shared projects.

  • Welcoming new residents and supporting those with respite stays.

  • Personal stories of home, comfort and care that define Wardside House.
